Gevher Nesibe Darussifasi and Madrasah (Seljuk Civilization Museum)
It was built by Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev I, the Sultan of the Anatolian Seljuk Empire, on the will of his sister Gevher Nesibe in 602 AH / 1205 AD. The building consists of a medical madrasah, mausoleum, healing center and bimarhane. Organized as two separate buildings, the healing hall and the madrasah were built in accordance with the four iwan scheme organized around an open courtyard. To the north of the iwan on the eastern wing of the madrasah is the tomb of Gevher Nesibe Hatun, which is two-storeyed, octagonal in plan and covered with a pyramidal cone.
It is known that mental illnesses were treated with the sound of water and music in the building, which was the first applied medicine madrasah in Anatolia. Today, it is used as the Seljuk Civilization Museum, where Seljuk Civilization is discussed in every aspect and the practices in the bimarhane section are presented with animations.
